Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.

Police then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests show the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.

A high-ranking official stated the incident rendered him without words and required to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
