19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on court had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional championship, took control to force a decider.
The opponent saved 4 early-game chances in a close third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
